The Ontario SPCA Fore the Animals Golf Tournament supports the care of the animals at two local animal shelters: Ontario SPCA Orangeville and District Branch and the Upper Credit Humane Society.
The golf tournament is held at the Caledon Country Club, Monday, Sept. 8. The cost is $170 per person, which includes a box lunch, 18 holes of golf with a best ball format with a golf cart for two, a dinner and golf day prizes. Hole-in-one prizes include a 2009 Pontiac G8 car sponsored by MacMaster Pontiac Buick GMC Inc. There will be a putting contest for a great prize and silent auction during the evening.
Events like this are important to the animal shelters because they rely on the involvement of the community to carry out their work. The animal shelters will use the proceeds from the golf tournament to help with the care of the stray, abandoned and neglected animals.
Dogs and cats that are adopted from the Ontario SPCA Orangeville and District Branch and from the Upper Credit Humane Society are spayed or neutered, given their first set of vaccines and are micro chipped.
Aside from registering for the tournament, individuals or businesses can sponsor a hole, donate a tournament or door prize. For more information, call 519-942-3140 or visit www.orangevilleSPCA.ca for all the details.
