The Orangeville Blues and Jazz Festival returns for its sixth season, June 5 to 8. See over 170 world-class performers playing events in downtown Orangeville and surrounding areas in clubs, pubs and coffee shops, and enjoy incredible free music on stages in Alexandra Park, Broadway and Mill Street. Orangeville Music Theatre presents Once Upon A Mattress June 6, 7, 13 and 14 at 8 p.m., and June 8 and 14 at 2 p.m. In this hilarious musical version of the fairy tale The Princess and the Pea, Queen Aggravain has ruled that no one in the kingdom may marry until her son, Prince Dauntless, marries. However, she has managed to sabotage every princess that came along. When Sir Harry and Lady Larken learn that they are going to be parents, wed or not, Sir Harry goes off to the swamps and brings back Princess Winnifred.

Quint*Essential 2008, a show featuring the jewellery, painting, weaving, glass and pottery of local artists Kathryn Thomson, Linda Jenetti, Pat Burns-Wendland, Brenda Roy and Rosemary Molesworth, runs June 20, 21 and 22 at Mono Community Centre. Opening gala, 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, includes music by Celtic harpist Loril Shannik, door prizes and refreshments. Show runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
